"Royal Oil" sounds like a celebratory party song - it's an Ode to Sobriety warning the listener about how deadly heroin is."The Magic of Youth" is also upbeat, while it talks about two young lovers who grew apart and became a stripper and a drug addict. The aforementioned "Another Drinkin' Song" is quite upbeat in it's third chorus while it talks about alcoholism.Lyrical Dissonance: Like most ska bands, they're quite good at it.Louis, Lawrence, and Austin San Diego, Atlanta and don't forget Boston"

Other members included Tim "Johnny Vegas" Burton (saxophone), Kevin Lenear (saxophone), Chris Rhodes (trombone) and Lawrence Katz (guitar). The group's line-up - particularly in the horn section - fluctuated over the years, but the most recognizable and longest lasting members are probably Dicky Barrett (vocals), Joseph "The Bass Fiddleman" Gittleman (bass guitar), Joe Sirois (drums) and Ben Carr (manager, dancer and "Boss Tone"). After going on hiatus for several years in The Noughties, they reformed in 2009 to release a new record, Pin Points and Gin Joints. They became prominent in The '90s during the height of the Third Wave ska revival and had a very successful hit with "The Impression That I Get", which topped the modern rock charts in 1997, and the platinum album Let's Face It. An American Ska band active from 1983 to 2022 and one of the main groups involved in the ska punk genre, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones were recognized mainly for their fusion of ska and Hardcore Punk and the distinctive growling vocals of frontman Dicky Barrett.
